From Palaeos.org
The trees and shrubs (700+ species) of the genus Eucalyptus ("True Box") are a diverse lot of myrtles that are crucial members of virtually all of Australia's terrestrial environments. A few species have spread into Papau New Guinea and Indonesia, and one species in the Philipines.
