(i) Any animal that primarily feeds on insects.
(ii) A member of the defunct mammalian order Insectivora; often but not necessarily insectivorous. Also and less confusingly known as an insectivoran. Most "insectivores" in this sense are now considered lipotyphlans or afrotheres.
