Rosaceae
From Palaeos
The Rosaceae is a large family of flowering plants (mostly woody, but some are herbaceous) that includes many members of economic significance. As well as the eponymous genus Rosa (roses), the family includes the genera Prunus (stonefruits), Malus (apples), Pyrus (pears), Rubus (brambles - raspberries, blackberries, etc.) and Fragaria (strawberries), all grown for their fruit (though the significance of Rosa as a food plant is perhaps less than it was).
