Note that many of the taxa placed incertae sedis above are simply ones that I have not yet found references that place them deeper in the phylogeny. Feel free to move them to more appropriate positions if they are available!

"Bacterium" versus "Bacterium"

Should we change the redirect on Bacterium, given as how there's a genus of stick insects in South America named that?--Stanton 08:11, 4 October 2006 (PDT)

Good question - how are we going to deal with cases where one title could indicate more than one thing? There's already one other case on Palaeos - mitochondrial cristae versus osteological cristae. On that page, so far, there's only a short glossary entry for each one, so we can get away with having the dictionary style "(1)... (2)..." entries. May be we should keep with that, but with links to other pages if the entry for one of the alternatives will take more than a few lines?--Christopher Taylor 07:25, 5 October 2006 (Sydney)

Sure if it's only short entries they can stay on the same page. If more is written then there can be two pages, e.g. [[Crista (mitochondria)]] and [[Crista (osteology)]]. Also a disambiguation page just called [[Crista]] which would link to both pages. This is how it is generally done on Wikipedia and it seems to work fine. And if one of the pages is used more often, that can become the default page (and is simply called [[Crista]]), while the disamguation page is called [[Crista (disambiguation)]]. That could work... Now to find information on Bacterium... --Stanton 20:09, 4 October 2006 (PDT)
