Life Needs

Needs:

1. Fluid water - provided by oceans, and atmosphere (no fluid without atmospheric pressure!),

2. Energy - provided by Sun, Volcanic energy,

3. Raw material - provided by atmosphere, hydrosphere, and some by lithosphere. Tellurian life requires H, C, N, O, Na, Mg, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Fe.

Life shuns

• UV, and shorter - protected by atmospheric O₃, or earlier: the upper hydrosphere,
• Solar wind and radioactive radiation - protected by magnetosphere, and upper atmosphere (any - not just containing O₃!),
• Cold - heat provided by sun and volcanic energy,
• Heat - thermal buffer provided by water,

Life prerequisits

1. reducing atmosphere,

2. fluid water,

3. high energy organic compounds available in environment,
