The article on Euramerica says that continent formed during the Devonian which is after the Silurian. Experts please check both articles. Proxima Centauri 09:36, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Googling for "Euramerica" finds pages dating its formation to both of the Silurian and Devonian. I'll look at this more later. (Not that I'm an expert!) Andreas 15:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Looking some more, it seems most sources say Silurian. The collision and associated orogeny was a rather drawn-out process, stretching from the Late Ordovician into the Devonian. Exactly at what point Euramerica can be considered to have come into existence is probably definitional - is, say, confluence of continental shelves enough, or do we require dry-land contact?
- Anyway, I've changed the Euramerica page to say Silurian. Andreas 17:09, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
