The [[Carbactinoceratidae]], considered as actinocerids by Teichert in the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology, part K, 1964, are now regarded as belonging to the [[Pseudorthocerida]] according to Kroger and Mapes (2007) based on the apical structure of the shell.
