Conostrichoceras is a genus belonging to the Nothoceratidae (Oncocerida) from the Middle and Upper Devonian. The shell is a moderately depressed, rapidly expanding exogastric cyrtocone. Septa are straight and close-spaced. Lateral profiles are moderately convex, producing a slightly bulged appearance. The siphuncle is ventral, composed of adapically expanded and adorally narrowed segments.

Conostrichoceras differs from Blakeoceras from which it is apparently derived by its convex lateral profile, and from the also closely related Turnoceras in having a less strongly curved phragmocone, and from both by the details of the siphuncle.
