The Schwagerininae, in current thinking, is a subfamily in the [[Schwagerinidae]] (Loeblich and Tappan, 1988) characterized by medium to large tests with variably fluted septa. Walls contain kariotheca rather than diaphanotheca.  Previously the Schwagerininae was regarded simply as a subfamily in the Fusulinidae (sensu Cushman, e.g. 1950)
